Location:  The John Wayne Airport Commission Room, 3160 Airway Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 (The JWA Commission Room is located in the parking lot at the base of the control tower.)

Cost:  $75 per person

Breakfast pastries, coffee, and water are included and a list of lunch spots in the area will be available.  You are also welcome to bring your own lunch. A kitchen is available with a refrigerator, freezer, and microwave.

Description:

Captain Gary Schank will be presenting a fun and informative look at an airline pilot’s tips on managing your workload from start-up through touchdown.  Subjects include:

· Timing tasks to make flying more relaxing and fun

· Flight Planning

· Efficient task management

· Ground and in-flight tasks

· ATC communications

· Flows & Checklists

· Best practices for phases of flight

Gary Schank is a recently retired Boeing 737 Captain with Delta Airlines.  For over 30 years, he has flown Boeing, McDonnell-Douglas, and Airbus airliners all over the world.  Currently, Gary Schank is a Captain for JSX Air Carrier on the EMB-145.  His type ratings include the Boeing 737, Airbus A-330, DC-9, CE-500, EMB-145, and SA-227.  Captain Schank instructed on the DC-9 for the airlines and is also a Certified Flight Instructor (CFII-MEI), an FAA Safety Representative, and an owner of a Bonanza A-36.  Captain Schank has published aviation articles in international aviation magazines and has spoken at many aviation events, including EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.  Gary Schank is also a member of Flying Musicians Association, Vice President of SoCal Pilots Association, Vice President of CalPilots  Association, and is a practicing attorney.
